150 on Tour: Loreto Kirribilli
The 150 Years Exhibition arrived at its third stop on tour — Loreto Kirribilli — on Monday 5 May, welcomed with a profound sense of community, reflection and celebration.
The evening brought together members of the Loreto community past and present, with a particularly moving presence from the Loreto Sisters. Sr Sandra Perrett ibvm and Sr Anne Kelly ibvm were honoured guests and speakers. Sr Sandra — architect of the 150 Years Exhibition — spoke of Loreto’s “living tradition” and the call to be “faithful to grace,” echoing the enduring vision of Mother Gonzaga Barry.
Sr Anne Kelly, herself a former Principal of Loreto Kirribilli and an alumna of Loreto College Marryatville, reflected on the heartfelt energy of the evening. Guests were welcomed with warmth before attending a powerful performance of Serious Business — a dialogue across time between Mother Gonzaga Barry and a present-day student. From there, visitors ascended to explore both Kirribilli’s own archival display and the collaborative Travelling Exhibition created by all Loreto schools across Australia — a moment many described as awe-inspiring.
Built in 1908, the Chapel was beautifully transformed into a contemplative tribute to 150 years of Loreto in Australia — a space where history, creativity and mission converged.
We thank Dr Nicole Archard, Principal, Mrs Helen Thomas, Director of Mission, and the entire Kirribilli team for their thoughtful curation and gracious hospitality.
